Frimont

Refrigeration equipment

Nearly 50-year journey, this is the path Frimont S.p.A. has followed and continues to follow as the sector leader in the manufacture and sale of commercial ice machines.
It all began with the entrepreneurial spirit of Emanuele Lanzani who, in 1964, created the new Italian company Frimont, headquartered in Pogliano Milanese, which established itself as a leader in the ice machine manufacturing sector.
Frimont soon penetrated numerous markets in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Once again, the decision to focus on global expansion which translated into a widespread presence throughout these markets, was based on the precise, strategic vision and conviction of its creator, now the Managing Director, Emanuele Lanzani. He believes that in order to provide the best to these markets, it is important to focus on the actual presence in each of them.
The decision has paid off in terms of quality and reliability, even catching the interest of the American company Scotsman Ice System, a global group dedicated to the creation of ice machines since 1950. In 1969 Frimont became a part of the American group that was subsequently renamed Scotsman Industries. In 1999 Scotsman Industries Inc. was taken over by the English group Berisford plc., later renamed Enodis.
In 2008, during the acquisition of Enodis plc. by Manitowoc, the latter was forced to surrender the company formerly known as Enodis Ice Group to comply with antitrust provisions.
In May 2009 Warburg Pincus, one of the top American Private Equity companies, took over Scotsman Industries from Manitowoc.

In December 2012 Ali Group acquired Scotsman Industries. ALI Group is an Italian corporation with its headquarters located in Milan; ALI is a leading global company in the business of food service equipments. The Groups employs over 7000 people in 24 countries.
The Scotsman Industries Group, with 5 production facilities, 10 sales offices spread throughout the principal global markets, over 1000 distributors and over 5000 technical and sales assistance centres in over 100 countries, is the largest manufacturing group of ice machines in the world
