The smoking device company OSSA Räuchergeräte was established by Rolf D. Ossa as a family company in 1983.
The first devices made by the company were initially manufactured in its own garage with assistance from external facilities, but the high demand for the products soon made it clear that the company needed to expand its production activities. The 'garage-based company' therefore became the organisation HELIA SMOKER, Rolf D. Ossa, and acquired all of the machines, staff and expertise required for the independent production of HELIA SMOKER pressure-chamber cooking and smoking ovens.
In line with the company's succession planning, it was taken over by the registered merchant Torsten Georg on 1st January 1999. Georg has since added fresh momentum to the company's business activities and enabled it to make successful progress with further developments both in Germany and in international markets.
