Grease traps are designed specially the for the collection and removal of oils and fats that are contained in the wastewater. The use of grease traps provides the protection of waste treatment facilities and sewerage from fats, which ensures its smooth operation and to avoid the obstruction.

Grease trap consists of a container divided into two parts, within which is occurred a division of the incoming wastewater into fat and aqueous components. Therewith separated oil particles are accumulated on the water surface inside the container, forming a slick. As far as it is collected a certain amount of fats, special sensors will indicate about that and soon after grease trap will be unloaded. Typically, this procedure is carried out at least once in six months.

Grease traps are made of various materials, such as fiberglass, stainless steel or polypropylene, and are characterized by a number of characteristics: durability and strength, shape and size, bandwidth, etc. Depending on the average volume of water flow used compact craft or grease.
